Charlton Heston 1924 - 2008

I respected Mr. Heston for what the picture above indicates. He stood up for right in a pivotal time.

I was young but remember Heston's clear and eloquent answer to those who questioned his pro civil rights stance.

His role in the Planet of the Apes films, with their profound social commentary, added to his stature in my view.

Michael Moore infuriated me by ridiculing Heston for his stance on gun rights.

Moore's work, though generally well intentioned, was forever tainted in my mind because of the advantage he took of an old, sick man, and the narrowness of heart and thought it indicated on his part.

Well done Mr. Heston. Take your rest.
