Marathon Day in Boston

Talk of the Nation, April 21, 2008 · Thousand of athletes took to the streets of Boston today for the 112th running of the city's marathon.

The elite runners were chasing the largest Boston Marathon purse ever. The top prize for women went to Dire Tune of Ethiopia, who finished in 2:25:25. Last year's Boston Champ Robert K. Cheruiyot of Kenya successfully defended his title in the men's race, crossing the finish line in 2:07:46.
