George Warren - Obit

Mr. George Warren, Jr. The funeral service for George Warren, 84, of Auburn, AL, will be at 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 2, 2008, at Shiloh A.M.E. Zion Church in the Brownville Community, with burial in Mt. Esther A.M.E. Zion Church Cemetery, Rev. Jerry Dowell will officiate.

Mr. Warren, who passed away Thursday, April 24, 2008, at his home surrounded by family & friends, was born in Russell County, Alabama.

He was self-employed as a Cement Finisher and laid foundations and other cement work throughout several states and enjoyed the simple things of life.

The body will be at the church one hour prior to the service.

There will be a family hour Thursday, May 1, 2008, from 6:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Survivors include: loving and devoted wife, Ernestine Baker Warren of Auburn, AL; loving children, Linder (Bobby) Yancy of Auburn, AL, Gloria (Frank) Harper of Opelika, AL, Constances (Carl) Floyd of Opelika, AL, Virginia (Clarence) Hollis of Alcoa, TN, Henrettia (James) Duffie of Crawford, AL, George (Katherine) Warren of Auburn, AL, Alvin (LaShander) Warren of Auburn, AL, Timothy (Gina) Pitts of Boston, MA, Willie (Evette) Baker of Knoxville, TN, James Warren, Merrell (Nicole) Warren, and Conteh (Roshica) Warren all of Auburn, AL; four sisters, Vera Felton, Warren, OH, Hattie Holt, Cincinnati, OH, Valenzia (Warren) Black, Buffalo, NY, and Lurletha Ward of Chicago, IL; one brother, Willie Lee (Bobby) Warren, Cheekawaga, NY; four sister-in-law, Glenda Richmond, Irene Smith, and Dorothy (Joe) Harrison all of Gary, IN, and Mozell Warren of Orlando, FL; three brothers-in-law, Robby Baker of Detroit, MI, Eddie Baker and Jerry Baker, both of Atlanta, GA; thirty-four grandchildren; twenty-nine great-grandchildren; two very dear first cousins, Marie Cason and Awilla Marie Stephen; a special niece, Vanessa Webb; a wonderful caregiver, Shanicka McCurdy; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
