Police: Kids get help when mom passes out drunk in car

SALEM, N.H. -- Police said two children walked into a restaurant looking for help because their mother was drunk and passed out in their car near an elementary school on Monday.

The 5-and-9-year-old walked into Sayde's Restaurant near the Soule Elementary School at 173 Policy Street pleading for help.

When police arrived, they found Laura LaSorsa, 38, of Salem, passed out in her car, which was still running.

Officers took her to the Salem Police Department and the children were released into their father's custody.

LaSorsa was charged with aggravated DWI and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child. She was released on $500 bail and is due in court Nov. 3.
