Sarah Palin said yesterday she was "thankful" an Alaska Legislative committee's report found she did not act illegally in the affair dubbed "Troopergate."
The report found that the Alaska governor violated state ethics laws and abused her power by trying to have her former brother-in-law fired as a state trooper. But Stephen Branchflower, a retired prosecutor hired to conduct the committee's probe, said Palin's firing of Commissioner Walt Monegan, was a "proper and lawful exercise" of her power to fire department heads for any reason....
