During a traditional hunting contest near Karkaralinsk in central Kazakhstan, a tamed golden eagle swooped down towards a hare on Thursday. Sayat, or hunting with golden eagles, is Kazakhstan's national sport, with Berkutchi - golden eagle hunters - coming from all over the country for the competition.
