Viola Smiley, 87, of Syracuse, passed away peacefully and went from labor to reward Saturday surrounded by her loving family. She was a founding member of Apostolic Church of Jesus Christ under the leadership of the late Bishop Robert W. Jones. She was preceded in death by her son, J.W. Williamson. She is survived by seven children, Victor Smiley of Atlanta, GA, Shirley Wright (Mike), Sophia Boykins (Alfonzo), Bishop Jimmie J. Smiley Jr. (Sarah), Kennedy Smiley all of Syracuse and Gwendolyn Bostwick of Atlanta, GA, Donna Mallory of Syracuse; a host of grandchildren; great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Calling hours will be Saturday noon to 2 p.m. at Living Water COGIC, 121 Huron St. with homegoing services at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to New Birth Fellowship Ministries, 2929 Midland Ave. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.
