HERMAN ASKEW Funeral service for Mr. Herman Askew, 96, of Loachapoka, will be held at 2:00 P. M. Friday, April 26, 2013 at Ebenezer C.M.E. Church with interment in Pine Level Cemetery. Rev. Larry Threatts will officiate. Mr. Askew passed Monday, April 22, 2013 at the East Alabama Medical Center. He was a member of Ebenezer C.M.E. Church. Mr. Askew was a member of Loachapoka Masonic Lodge #292, the Loachapoka Cemetery Committee and participated with his mule in the Loachapoka Syrup Sopping. His remains will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the service. Survivors: one uncle, Roger Williams, Waverly; six nephews, A.C. Askew, Curtis Lockhart Askew, Lamone (Jamika) Askew and Brian Askew all of Loachapoka, Joe Nathan (Tarshia) Oliver, Notasulga and Herman Askew, Tallassee; six nieces, Gussie (Dexter) Askew, Timika Askew and Barbara Acres all of Loachapoka, Atheria Morgan, Tallassee, Sharlet Powell, Columbus, GA and Lettie Lockhart Jones, Auburn; eighteen grand nieces and nephews, twenty-two great nieces and nephews; one god-son, Charles (Pearl) Brown, Auburn; a close friend, Jessie Bell, Loachapoka; a host of other relatives and friends.
