Text of email from History Center to charter school director

This is the text of an email Susan Grabski, director of the Lawrence History Center, sent to Frank DeVito, executive director of the Equity Lab Charter School, accusing him of sending the state Education Department a letter in her name saying she supports his proposal to open a school in Lawrence. Grabski said she never wrote the letter and warned DeVito not to use her name or the History Center's, or to contend that they support his application to open the school.

Dear Mr. DeVito:
This correspondence memorializes that, without my authorization or consent or that of the Lawrence History Center, you submitted a version of the attached letter to the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education ("DESE") and, further, that the attached correspondence was drafted by you and not by the Lawrence History Center or me.  As you are well-aware, I never signed the letter nor did I authorize that it be sent to DESE.  Likewise, I never authorized you to send or forward any such letter to any third party or entity nor did I authorize you in any way to use Lawrence History Center's name, logo or mark whether authentic or not.  Putting aside the fact that the attached letter does not utilize official Lawrence History Center letterhead and does not spell my name correctly, the Lawrence History Center does not submit letters in support of third party entities' formal applications nor did it do so in this instance.
Accordingly, you are directed to immediately cease and desist from:
1.    Utilizing the name, marks, logo and letterhead, whether authentic or not, of the Lawrence History Center;
2.    Sending any further correspondence on real of fake Lawrence History Center letterhead;
3.    Signing my name to any correspondence or document whatsoever; and
4.    Representing, whether verbally or in writing, that the Lawrence History Center supports any application submitted by you and/or Equity Lab 1 to any third party whatsoever.
We also are formally requesting you immediately disclose in writing the identity of any other person or entity to whom you sent the attached letter, a version thereof or any copies thereof, whether allegedly signed or not.
Lastly, please be advised that the Board of Directors of the Lawrence History Center is taking this matter extremely seriously, thus your immediate disclosure is expected.
