Elbert D. McClammey

Elbert D. McClammey, 87, of Beatrice died Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2008 in Atlanta, Ga.

McClammey was born in Beatrice. He graduated from Monroe County Training School and earned a degree in Business Administration from Tuskegee College. He retired from US Navy as Chief Stewart. He spent most of his career as a truck driver and a member of the Western Conference Teamster Union.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Frank McClammey; a sister, Calvesta McKenzie; and a son, Michael McClammey.

Survivors include two sons, Elbert D. McClammey Jr. and Matthew McClammey; three daughters, Patsy Lee Felton, Ninotchka McClammey and Tina Gray; one brother, Thad (Patricia) McClammey of Montgomery; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Services were held Tuesday, Jan. 22 at noon in the Jones Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Floyd Dailey officiating. Burial followed in Christian Valley Cemetery in Beatrice.
