Deacon Lane of Montgomery

LANE, Deacon Willie "Lenbug" Jr., a resident of Montgomery, AL departed this life Wednesday, August 11, 2010. Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 21, 2010 at 1:00 PM from Rice Temple A.O. H. Church of God, 601 Clayton Street, Montgomery, AL with Bishop Gregory Cannon, officiating. Interment will follow in Greenwood Serenity Gardens with Ross-Clayton Funeral Home, Inc., directing. Mr. Lane will lie in repose at the church one hour prior to the funeral service. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, one brother and four sisters. He leaves to cherish his memories a loving and devoted wife of many years, Mother Willie Lee Lane; six sons, Willie Lane, III, Michael (May) Lane, Gregory Lane and Kevin Lane, all of Montgomery, AL, Melvin Hood, Marietta, GA and Walter Hood, Washington, DC; three daughters, Angela Lane, Temple Hills, MD, Jacqueline (Nashon) Williams, Marietta, GA and Gwendolyn (Mack) McClam, Manassas, VA; four brothers, Marshall (Callie) Lane, Nathaniel Lane, both of Montgomery, AL, Steve (Shirley) Rogers and Eugene (Jackie) Rogers, Cleveland, OH; one sister, Vivian Walker, Los Angeles, CA; fifteen grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends; two devoted friends, Jimmy Davis and Willie Moss.
