Ronald Elliott Morse, Sr. (Dr. Ron), 45 died Thursday, October 15, 2015 at his home in Salisbury.
Born in Tuskegee, AL, he is the son of Joseph and Sylvia (Hall) Morse of Salisbury.
Ron was a 1988 graduate of Parkside High School where he excelled in football. Upon graduation, he matriculated at Tuskegee University in Alabama, receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science. He did further studies at the University of Maryland, Eastern Shore in Princess Anne, MD receiving a Master’s degree in counseling and a Doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology from University of VA in Charlottesville.
He taught counseling at UMES and Bowie State University. He was also a Student Counselor and Associate Professor of Rehabilitation Services at UMES. He formerly managed Tender Care in Salisbury, a youth facility for those with special needs. He was the Associate Publisher with the local Delmarva African-American Pride Magazine.
Besides his parents, he is survived by three sons: Ronald E. Morse, Jr. of Cockeysville, MD, Dyllon Collier of Pittsville and Tyler J. Hall of Kissimmee, FL; one brother Richard E. Morse of Salisbury, one sister Donna Owens of Los Angeles, CA; one uncle and aunt: Richard (Joyce) Hall of Harper’s Ferry, WV and Loretta Hall of Herndon, VA; a special great aunt Inez Glass of Tuskegee, AL, several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held 1:00 pm, Friday, October 23, 2015 at Wesley Temple United Methodist Church in Salisbury where friends may view two hours prior to service. Interment will be private.
